The IMD on Monday (June 26) had predicted heavy rainfall for Mumbai over the next two days. Moderate to heavy rain lashed Mumbai and its suburbs on Monday but Tuesday witnessed moderate rainfall in several parts of the city. Meanwhile, the weather department has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai on Wednesday, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated pockets in the city.
IMD issues an ‘Orange’ alert for Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Nashik, Pune and Satara for June 28 and 'Yellow' alert for Mumbai and Thane.
On June 28 at around 05:26 am, the Disaster Management Room of the City Traffic Control Room received information that above the Waghbeel Bridge, Opposite Suraj Water Park, Waghbeel, Ghodbunder Road, Thane (West), a container hit a street light pole. Traffic movement on one of the lanes was moving slowly, said authorities.

According to information received in the Disaster Management Cell Room on June 28, at around 10:50 am, near Thane Janata Sahakari Bank, beside rickshaw stand, Mango Showroom Front, B-Cabin at Naupada in Thane (West) water logging was reported on the road. Concerned department has been informed.

A huge tree fell on the road opposite PNG Jewellers, Ram Maruti Road in Thane West after a heavy spell of rains on Wednesday. Water logging was also reported from several areas in Thane.
Report of lake levels out
The report on water in lake levels on Wednesday morning is out. The report says that there has been very little rise in water levels in Upper Vaitarna (in terms of useful content), however, there has been some increase in the storage in Modak Sagar, Tansa and Middle Vaitarna.
38-year-old man dead after tree falls in Malad
A peepal tree with approximate girth of 4 feet and 35 feet height fell in private compound named Manibhai Munji chawl, mamletdarwadi ,near Ganga chawl in Malad West. One person, identified as Koushal Mahendra Doshi, aged 38 years got severely injured. He was immediately taken to Shatabdi hospital where he was declared dead.

"We have installed a pumping station here (Dharavi) that will pump out 1,000 cubic metre of water every hour," said Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal on preparations to deal with heavy rainfall in Mumbai.

IMD says heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in Konkan and Ghat sections of Maharashtra today i.e. June 28.
"Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Shri. Iqbal Singh Chahal, conducted visits to various locations within the BMC area, to assess the preparedness of the administration in response to the ongoing heavy rainfall in Mumbai. During the visit, he inspected the mini pumping station situated at Hindmata, as well as the underground water storage tank at St. Xavier's Ground. Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Shri P. Velrasu, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Zone 2) Shri Ramakant Biradar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Infrastructure) Shri Ulhas Mahale, Assistant Commissioner (F South) Shri Mahesh Patil and officers were present."- BMC in a tweet.
BMC says it has drained out waterlogging at Andheri Subway and has restored vehicular movement.
