Mumbai: The parts of Dadar and Mahim experienced a power outage for nearly an hour on Monday night following the tripping of the Dharavi and Siladevi receiving stations.

When contacted, officials from BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport) stated that the issue originated "at the Tata Power end." BEST procures electricity from Tata Power and distributes it to approximately 10.8 lakh consumers across Mumbai's island city, as reported by The Times Of India.

However, according to the report, the Tata Power spokesperson offered a different explanation. “The outage affecting parts of Dadar and Mahim around 8.40 pm was not due to any fault at Tata Power’s end. Our systems have remained fully operational, with no disruption in power supply from our side. As per initial assessment, the outage was due to the tripping of the 33kV Sitladevi-2 feeder at 8.36 pm, which is operated by BEST,” the official said.
