Mumbai: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following multiple cross-border drone and missile attacks, Mumbai has been placed on high alert. In a precautionary move, Mumbai Police have intensified patrolling across the city's coastline.
Citizens Asked To Vacate Seafront Areas

Maha CM Fadnavis Calls For High-level Security Meet
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is scheduled to chair a high-level security review meeting today at his official residence, Varsha Bungalow, in Mumbai. The meeting will be attended by senior police and administrative officials to assess preparedness and formulate coordinated security measures.
The alert in Mumbai comes as part of a nationwide effort to counter cross-border hostilities. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma also chaired a similar review meeting on Friday to reinforce security across the state, with a special emphasis on vulnerable border districts like Jaisalmer, which recently faced drone intrusions. The Chief Minister directed officials to remain on maximum alert and implement swift upgrades in security infrastructure.
Blackout Imposed In Several Areas
Earlier this week, explosions and aerial flashes were witnessed in Bikaner, Punjab, and parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Kishtwar, Akhnoor, Samba, Jammu, Amritsar and Jalandhar. In several of these areas, blackouts were imposed as a security measure to shield against potential airstrikes and drone-guided attacks.
Over 50 Pakistani Drones Downed
In a massive overnight retaliation operation, the Indian Army neutralised over 50 Pakistani drones that attempted to breach Indian airspace along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Borders (IB). According to defence sources, these drones were part of a coordinated swarm drone assault launched by Pakistan on Wednesday night.
According to an ANI report citing sources, the Indian Army deployed a layered air defence strategy involving L-70 anti-aircraft guns, Zu-23mm cannons, Schilka weapon systems, and advanced counter-unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to intercept and destroy the incoming threats.
