Mumbai: Sherry & Diya Foundation, a non-governmental organisation has ensured that none of the stray animals in Mumbai are hit by vehicles. The NGO has started manufacturing reflective collars for stray animals and distributing them to people across the city for free so that the animals are visible in the dark.
The NGO has announced that it will be donating reflective collars for stray dogs living on roads and highways as an effort to save them from road accidents. Those interested to receive the reflective collars can contact the organisation on WhatsApp on 8282827393.
Rakesh Kothari, founder of the NGO, said, “During monsoon, the visibility is low on the roads and especially at night, the drivers can not see animals walking on the road. We have manufactured these collars in such a way that the light will reflect on the collars allowing the drivers to know that there is an animal ahead.”
