A Mumbai-based woman who had earlier filed a police complaint against Siddhant Shirsat, son of Maharashtra Social Justice Minister and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat, has withdrawn her allegations, calling the issue a personal matter.
On Tuesday, the woman had accused Siddhant Shirsat of physical and mental harassment, emotional manipulation, and cheating. She also issued a legal notice against him. However, later in the day, she informed media outlets during a TV interview that she had decided to withdraw the complaint to put an end to the controversy.
According to her lawyer, Chandrakant Thombre, the woman and Siddhant first met via Facebook and developed a relationship that began in 2018. The woman alleged that Siddhant emotionally manipulated her into divorcing her first husband under the promise of marriage. She claimed he threatened self-harm—including sending photos with a gun to his head and self-inflicted wounds—to pressure her into the relationship.
She further alleged that despite the long-standing relationship, Siddhant recently shared photographs of his marriage to another woman, prompting her to come forward with the complaint. She also pointed out that a previous complaint filed in December 2024 had seen no action, allegedly due to Siddhant's political connections.

Thombre stated that they had considered approaching the State Women’s Commission for justice.
However, in a surprising turn of events, the woman later retracted all accusations. “I want to stop the topic here because it is my personal matter,” she said during a televised interview. “I had no intention to defame anyone’s reputation. Politics is being played based on my personal issues.”
She also warned against the circulation of private photos involving the two and clarified that Minister Sanjay Shirsat had no involvement in the matter.
