Mumbai: Suburban train services on the Western Railway (WR) were disrupted on the evening of Wednesday due to tree branches falling onto the overhead electric (OHE) wires.

Reportedly a piece of cloth was found hanging on the OHE between Churchgate and Marine Lines, while a tree branch had fallen onto the wires between Mahalaxmi and Lower Parel. As a result, Up and Down slow line services were halted at around 4:25 PM. However, both fast lines remained operational.

Upon receiving the information, the concerned officials promptly reached the affected locations. The Up slow line was restored by approximately 5:15 PM, and the Down slow line followed shortly after.

Despite the restoration, the cascading effect led to slow line services running behind schedule until late evening. Similarly, on the central line a few local services also experienced delays.
