Mumbai: Today around 12:15 PM, a group of 4 to 5 villagers from Markerwadi, Solapur district, suddenly gathered at Usha Mehta Chowk and began protesting over issues related to Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

Cuffe Parade Police and personnel deployed at the location immediately intervened and detained the protesters. They were taken into custody and transported in a police vehicle to Azad Maidan for further action. The incident was confirmed by Senior Police Inspector Nilesh Bagul of Marine Drive Police Station.
