Mumbai: The Museum of Solutions (MuSo), a children's museum located in Lower Parel, is hosting the 'Big Why Fest,' a month-long event running from March 1 to March 31. With an aim to inspire curiosity and learning among children across Mumbai, the festival offers a range of interactive activities.
It features four dedicated labs—Make, Discover, Play, and Grow—where children can participate in interactive learning experiences, including scientific experiments, creative DIY projects, gardening, and group competitions.
These four specialised labs have been designed to engage children in different aspects of learning and exploration. The Make Lab focuses on creativity and innovation, offering children the opportunity to design, craft, and build. Through hands-on projects, children can experiment with materials and learn basic engineering concepts.
The Discover Lab promotes scientific inquiry, encouraging children to participate in interactive experiments and engage with the natural world. From simple chemistry activities to explorations of nature, this lab is seen as a platform for young learners to cultivate love for science and discovery.
Meanwhile, the Play Lab centres around learning through play, offering games and role-playing activities that enhance problem-solving skills, teamwork, and critical thinking. The focus here is on collaborative challenges to not just entertain but also impart valuable life skills in an enjoyable setting.
The Grow Lab is dedicated to sustainability and environmental awareness. Children are introduced to topics like gardening, ecosystems, and conservation through practical projects, helping them understand the importance of caring for the planet and promoting responsibility towards the environment.
According to Tanvi Jindal, the festival’s founder, curiosity is the foundation of all learning, and the Muso Big Why Fest serves as a platform to nurture this instinct.
“By fostering a culture of inquiry and exploration, we aim to equip children with critical thinking skills that will serve them throughout their lives,” she said.
