Mumbai News: 'Ghibli Art Of Lord Ganesha An Insult', Mumbai Cha Raja Mandal Calls for Removal Of AI Pictures Of Bappa From Social Media
Amid the growing trend of Ghibli-style artwork on social media, the Mumbai Cha Raja Mandal has requested users to remove pictures of Lord Ganesha and other goddesses. They stated that such portrayals are offensive and disrespectful.

Mumbai: Amid the trend of 'AI Ghibli Art' on social media, Mumbai Cha Raja Mandal has requested citizens to remove posts featuring Lord Ganesha and other goddesses. This request was made in an Instagram story shared by the Mandal on Wednesday.
The trend, which has gone viral across platforms from WhatsApp stories to Instagram posts and stories, has sparked concern. The Mandal expressed that these pictures are an insult to Lord Ganesha.
"As we all know, the idols of the Raja and other deities in Mumbai are symbols of our devotion and faith. Images of deities hold sanctity. Currently, some people on social media are creating 'Ghibli Art' from photos of Bappa, which is inappropriate," Mumbai Cha Raja Mandal said in the post.

The Mandal has requested users to refrain from creating 'Ghibli Art' of Bappa’s photos, and for those who have already done so, to remove them from social media. Such AI-generated art often carries sarcastic irony, which may inadvertently insult our own God. It is not appropriate to transform Bappa's image in this manner.
