Anjali Damania Issues 48-Hour Ultimatum To Dhananjay Munde Over 'Satpuda' Bungalow, ₹46 Lakh Fine | File
Social activist Anjali Damania has issued a legal notice and a 48-hour ultimatum to the Maharashtra government, demanding that NCP leader and former minister Dhananjay Munde vacate the official ‘Satpuda’ bungalow in Mumbai and pay a pending fine of ₹46 lakh.
Affidavit Shows Ownership of Unused Flat
Munde resigned as Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection more than five months ago but has yet to vacate the government residence. He previously claimed he had no house in Mumbai, citing health concerns and his daughter’s education as reasons for staying in the bungalow. However, Damania pointed out that Munde’s 2024 election affidavit mentions a 2,151 sq ft flat in ‘Veer Bhavan’ near Girgaum Chowpatty, which is currently lying unused.
Activist’s 48-Hour Ultimatum
Calling his continued stay “completely wrong,” Damania warned, “If he fails to vacate the bungalow and pay the dues within 48 hours, we will question the government. The fine must be recovered, and Munde must be sent to his own residence immediately.”

In response, Munde clarified that his private flat in Mumbai is currently uninhabitable due to ongoing repairs. He added that his younger daughter’s school is in the same area, and his medical treatments also require him to remain in Mumbai. “Finding a rental home in this locality is difficult, but I am actively searching. Once repairs are complete, I will vacate the government residence. I have already informed the government of this,” he said.
