Mumbai: New AC Bus Route A-84 Launched Between Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk And Oshiwara Depot Via Coastal Road

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking has announced the launch of a new air-conditioned (AC) bus route A-84. This service, starting Sunday, September 7, 2025, will operate between Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk and Oshiwara Bus Depot via the Swarajyarakshak Dharmaveer Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Coastal Road.
Part of Fleet Modernisation Drive
“The new route is part of BEST’s ongoing initiative to modernize its fleet by gradually adding new AC buses, many of which have already been introduced into service,” said an official of BEST.
Key Areas Connected
The newly launched Route A-84 is designed to improve commuter comfort and reduce travel time by linking South and Western Mumbai through the Coastal Road. The bus will cover major stops including Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Station), Coastal Road, Worli Sea Face, Worli Depot, Babasaheb Chowk, Mayor’s Bungalow (Shivaji Park), Mahim, Khar Road (W), Santacruz Depot, Vile Parle, Andheri Station (West), Khar Station Road (West), Oshiwara Bridge, and Oshiwara Bus Depot.
Four Coastal Road Stops Added
According to BEST, the bus will halt at four key stops along the Coastal Road—Parsee General Hospital, Mahalaxmi Mandir, Nehru Planetarium, and Worli Dugdhalaya.
Daily Schedule and Frequency
From Oshiwara Bus Depot, the first bus will depart at 7:15 AM and the last at 5:20 PM. In the reverse direction, from Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chowk (Museum), the first bus will leave at 8:50 AM and the last at 7:15 PM. Buses will operate every 40 to 45 minutes, ensuring consistent availability for passengers.
Affordable Fares for All
The fare structure ranges from a minimum of Rs 12 to a maximum of Rs 50, keeping the service affordable for a wide section of commuters. The route will run seven days a week.

BEST has urged citizens to use the newly introduced AC service, highlighting its potential to provide a smoother and more enjoyable travel experience, particularly along the Coastal Road.
