Mumbai Horror: 13-Year-Old Girl Exposes Stepfather’s 2-Year Sexual Abuse During School Counselling Session; Accused Arrested Under POCSO Act

A harrowing tale of two years of alleged sexual abuse came to light when a 13-year-old girl courageously confided in a counselor during a school session. The revelation led to the swift arrest of her stepfather by Trombay police, who have charged him under various sections, including outraging modesty and the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to the police, the 13-year-old victim is an Urdu school student. Her school, with the assistance of a non-governmental organization, conducted counseling sessions for all students. Initially, the girl was hesitant to speak. However, after the counselor patiently built trust and questioned her, she disclosed that her stepfather had allegedly been molesting her for the past two years, primarily when her mother was away at work.

Upon learning of the grave accusations, the school promptly informed the victim's mother, who immediately approached the Trombay police. Acting on her complaint, police registered a case against the 37-year-old stepfather and arrested him from his residence.
