In a hit-and-run incident, a 52-year-old woman died in an accident in Malad West on Wednesday. In the morning, while she was walking in front of Meghsons shop near the Marve Road signal, Malad West, an unidentified vehicle struck her, causing her to fall, sustain serious injuries, and eventually lose her life.

Mumbai: In a hit-and-run incident, a 52-year-old woman died in an accident in Malad West on Wednesday. In the morning, while she was walking in front of Meghsons shop near the Marve Road signal, Malad West, an unidentified vehicle struck her, causing her to fall, sustain serious injuries, and eventually lose her life.
The driver fled the scene with the vehicle. Police are examining CCTV footage but have not yet traced the driver. The deceased was a homemaker and resided in Kandivali West.
Accident While Returning From Hospital
According to the FIR, the deceased, Vandana Gala, had gone to Agrawal Hospital in Malad West on Wednesday morning for a regular check-up. The accident occurred while she was returning from the hospital, between 8:00 AM and 8:20 AM. When she reached Meghsons shop near the Marve Road signal, she was walking beside the road when an unidentified vehicle hit her from behind. The driver fled the spot with the vehicle.
Fatal Injuries & Immediate Death
She collapsed on the spot and sustained multiple serious injuries all over her body, including her head. Bystanders called for an ambulance and rushed her to Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali West, where the doctor declared her dead before admission.
Family Informed & Complaint Filed
The police contacted her brother, Paresh Vira, 56, who resides in Borivali West. He arrived at the hospital and took custody of the body after post mortem. He later filed a complaint against the unidentified vehicle driver.
