'Mumbai-Goa Highway’s 84-km Panvel-Indapur Stretch To Be Ready By December': NHAI

According to the NHAI official, the entire 84km stretch is almost ready and only about 4km work is remaining. Infact on August 18th a review site visit is expected to be done by CM Devendra Fadnavis and deputy CM Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.

The long-delayed and controversial Mumbai-Goa highway, specifically the 84-kilometre stretch between Panvel and Indapur, has a fresh deadline and is now expected to be fully complete by December this year, according to an official from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).

This 84-km stretch is divided into two packages. Package one, covering 42.3 km from Panvel to Kasu and another package upto Indapur covers 42.3km respectively. 

Review Visit Scheduled

According to the NHAI official, the entire 84km stretch is almost ready and only about 4km work is remaining. Infact on August 18th a review site visit is expected to be done by CM Devendra Fadnavis and deputy CM Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. 

Missed Earlier Deadline

The entire project previously was expected to be completed by December 2024 missed the deadline. 

Wider Highway Plan

The 555-km long Mumbai-Goa highway has been planned to connect Mumbai and Goa, of which 460km lies in Maharashtra till Patradevi in Sindhudurg district and rest with Goa state . The 84 km out of the 460 km of the Mumbai-Goa highway in Maharashtra is being constructed by the NHAI, the remaining 376 km has been taken up by the state Public Works Department.
