Mumbai : The Mumbai Cyber Police have arrested a Delhi-based YouTuber, Piyush Katyal, for allegedly duping a 45-year-old woman of approximately Rs 19 lakh under the pretext of medical emergencies.
Piyush Katyal, known for creating prank videos on YouTube, has over 5 lakh followers on social media. According to police, the victim started following his account around 4-5 months ago after watching his content. The two connected over social media comments and eventually exchanged phone numbers.

Over time, Piyush started requesting money, citing various medical emergencies. The woman, believing his situation to be genuine, initially helped. However, his demands for money became frequent and manipulative.
When she hesitated to transfer more funds, Katyal allegedly threatened to defame her by sharing screenshots of their chats on social media and even claimed he had connections in the police.
Eventually, the woman approached the North Cyber Police Station and lodged a complaint. Acting on the complaint, police registered an FIR and arrested Katyal from Delhi.He was produced before the court, which has remanded him to five days of police custody for further investigation.
