The Ghatkopar Police have registered a case of attempted murder and are currently investigating the matter.
According to the FIR, the victim, Sufiyan Khan was in a relationship with Aliza, a 21-year-old and both lived in the Chiragnagar locality. Aliza was previously engaged to Faizan Habib Mirza, but the engagement was called off in 2024 after Faizan’s family allegedly demanded dowry.

On June 22, at around 4:30 AM, Sufiyan was returning home from work, when he was ambushed near the T-One building by Faizan, his friend Farhan, and three unidentified accomplices. The assailants attacked him with an iron jack and rods, leaving him severely injured.
Sufiyan was initially admitted to Bhabha Hospital and later shifted to Rajawadi Hospital for further treatment. The police have filed charges under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and are continuing their investigation.
