Mumbai: The Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) of the Mumbai Crime Branch has uncovered critical details following the arrest of several accused individuals and the seizure of a cache of high-grade weapons from the Cotton Green area. Sources in the Crime Branch revealed that during interrogation, the accused disclosed they were handed the weapons in Haryana before receiving further instructions to travel to Mumbai.
While the suspects claimed limited knowledge about the person who supplied them the arms in Haryana, the revelation has prompted the Crime Branch to begin efforts to identify the supplier. As part of this investigation, the Mumbai Crime Branch is actively coordinating with Haryana Police and collecting relevant intelligence. Additionally, investigators are analyzing the Call Detail Records (CDRs) of the arrested individuals to trace any links that could lead them to the arms supplier.

Investigators are now trying to determine the intended target or motive behind the accused bringing such deadly weapons to Mumbai. Notably, preliminary leads suggest that one of the arrested suspects, Rahul Prithvi Singh, may have ties to the Bishnoi gang. However, Crime Branch officials have clarified that this link is still under verification.
Furthermore, police are examining the social media profiles of all accused for possible clues and connections. "We are investigating this case from all possible angles," said a Crime Branch officer. "At this stage, it would be premature to draw conclusions. The investigation is ongoing."
