Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests 6 People Associated With Abhinav Charitable Trust NGO In ₹55 Lakh Extortion Case
The victim, Dharamraj Uttam Davne, a BMC employee, was allegedly being extorted by the accused, who demanded Rs 55 lakh from him. They claimed that the documents he had submitted for his BMC job were forged. However, Davne denied using any fraudulent documents for his employment.

Mumbai: The Mumbai crime branch’s Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) has arrested six persons associated with the NGO Abhinav Charitable Trust in connection with an extortion case. The accused were produced before the Fort court on Tuesday, which remanded them to police custody until September 27.
About The Case
The victim, Dharamraj Uttam Davne, a BMC employee, was allegedly being extorted by the accused, who demanded Rs 55 lakh from him. They claimed that the documents he had submitted for his BMC job were forged. However, Davne denied using any fraudulent documents for his employment.
Despite his claims, he continued to receive extortion threats from the accused. The accused demanded that the extortion amount be delivered at Hotel Marine Plaza, Marine Drive. Acting on this, the AEC laid a trap and apprehended all six accused at the location.
