Mumbai Crime: ACB Nabs BMC K-East Ward Staffer Accepting ₹12,000 Bribe In Sting Operation
The Mumbai Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have arrested a staffer from K-East ward of BMC in a bribery case. The accused public servant has been identified as Sandeep Jogdandkar, a helper at K-East ward of BMC.

Mumbai: The Mumbai Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have arrested a staffer from K-East ward of BMC in a bribery case. The accused public servant has been identified as Sandeep Jogdandkar, a helper at K-East ward of BMC.
According to the ACB, the complainant is in the business of selling and renting handcarts. On 18/01/2025, the handcart making equipment of the complainant was picked up by Maintenance Department, BMC, K/ East Ward, Mumbai.
The complainant went to K/ East Ward on the next day and tried to meet the officers there but could not meet them. After that the complainant on 27/01/2025 net an official at K/East Ward who told the complainant that his belongings have now been dumped and nothing can be done.
Thereafter on 27/03/2025 the complainant came to know from his acquaintances that his belongings were being sold by Sandeep Jogdandkar. Accordingly, the complainant sent a person known to him to meet Jogdandkar.
At that time Jogdandkar contacted the complainant on phone and asked him to meet near J.B. Nagar Metro Station. Jogdandkar then told the complainant to pay Rs 15,000 to get his belongings. After negotiation the amount was brought down to Rs 12,000.
However, as the complainant did not want to pay bribe to the public servant, he approached ACB Mumbai office on 02/04/2025 and lodged a complaint. Accordingly, a trap was laid and Sandeep Jogdandkar was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000 from the complainant.
