Mumbai Crime: 14-Year-Old Girl Raped At Friend’s Birthday Party, Obscene Video Used For Blackmail; 2 Men Arrested

Mumbai: A 14-year-old girl who went to her friend's birthday party was raped by two men in Malvani, Malad. This incident came to light after the girl's obscene picture was sent to her mother. The Malvani police have registered a case and arrested two youths in this case.

The victim is 14-year-old and studies in a school in Malad area. In February, she was invited to a birthday party by her classmate. Accordingly, the victim went to her house. But no one else was there. Her friend went out of the house for some work and a 23-year-old young man came to the house. He said that he had come to the birthday party. Then, taking advantage of the absence of anyone in the house, he raped her. Without the girl's knowledge, he filmed this incident on his mobile phone.

Later, he sent the picture to another friend. The other accused started blackmailing her based on this picture. He threatened to make the obscene video viral if she did not have sex with him. So in April, the victim went to meet him. He took the victim to a lodge in Gorai and raped her. The victim thought that this incident stopped there. However, for a period of one and a half months, both the accused repeatedly threatened her and raped her.

However, on June 6, the victim tried to send the obscene video to the girl's mother. Then this incident came to light. In this case, the Malvani police had registered a case under sections 64 (1), 56 (1) and 3 (5) of the BNS for rape and also under the Information Technology Act for making the obscene video viral.

The police investigated and arrested both the accused. One of the accused is 23-year-old and works as an ola driver, while the other accused works as a dog handler in the same area.

The accused is currently in police custody and their interrogation is ongoing. We have seized the mobile phones of the accused and have sent them to the forensic laboratory for examination," said Senior Police Officer.
