Mumbai Accident: Police Couple Injured After Speeding Car Rams Into Their Vehicle In Malad, Woman Critical
A high-speed vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle in Malad late Sunday night, causing the latter to overturn and crash on the roadside. The occupants a police couple narrowly escaped with their lives, but the woman sustained serious injuries. Malad Police have registered a case against the errant driver.

Mumbai: A high-speed vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle in Malad late Sunday night, causing the latter to overturn and crash on the roadside. The occupants a police couple narrowly escaped with their lives, but the woman sustained serious injuries. Malad Police have registered a case against the errant driver.
The injured, Radhika Futane (46), was traveling with her husband, Shivdas Futane (53), who is an Assistant Police Sub-Inspector posted at Malvani Police Station. The couple was commuting in a private vehicle around 10 p.m. on Sunday when the incident occurred near Shivaji Chowk on S.V. Road.
Their car was hit by a speeding vehicle (MH 02 GH 2678), which was reportedly being driven recklessly. The impact caused the couple’s car to overturn. While Shivdas escaped with minor injuries, Radhika Futane sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
The driver, identified as Ashfaq Khan (29), has been booked under Sections 184 and 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act for rash and negligent driving and Sections 125 and 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). According to police, the accident occurred because the driver was allegedly talking on his mobile phone while driving.
