According to the police, the incident occurred around 1 PM when a speeding Eicher truck (MH-48-DC-2160), traveling from Sion Hospital towards Kumbharwada Junction, struck the child. The Shahunagar Police immediately responded to the scene and rushed the injured boy to the Sion Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.

Mumbai: An 8-year-old boy, identified as Viraj Nitesh Kedia, lost his life in a tragic road accident at Kumbharwada Junction in Dharavi on the afternoon of August 5.

About The Incident

According to the police, the incident occurred around 1 PM when a speeding Eicher truck (MH-48-DC-2160), traveling from Sion Hospital towards Kumbharwada Junction, struck the child. The Shahunagar Police immediately responded to the scene and rushed the injured boy to the Sion Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.

The truck driver has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act. The Police are currently investigating the incident.

Locals have expressed concern over the increasing number of speeding vehicles in the area, urging authorities to implement stricter traffic regulations to prevent such incidents in the future.
