Mira Bhayandar Hit-And-Run Case: 50-Year-Old Woman Killed After Speeding Car Rams Her While Crossing Road In Bhayandar

According to the police, Kiran was hit by an unidentified four-wheeler as she was crossing the road. While Kiran suffered serious head injuries, the driver sped away without stopping. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead-on arrival by on-duty doctors.

The Navghar police are on the lookout of a car driver in a hit-and-run case which claimed the life of a 50-year-old woman in Bhayandar late on Sunday night. The tragic mishap was reported from the New Golden Nest area of Bhayandar (east) at around 11:40 pm on Sunday. The deceased woman who has been identified as- Kiran Satraalkar (50) was returning home along with her husband and son after having dinner at a restaurant in their locality.

According to the police, Kiran was hit by an unidentified four-wheeler as she was crossing the road. While Kiran suffered serious head injuries, the driver sped away without stopping. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead-on arrival by on-duty doctors.

Based on a complaint registered by Kiran’s husband, the Navghar police registered an offence under sections 106 (causing death by negligence), 281 (rash driving on a public way) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and section 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act-1988 for dangerous driving against the yet-to-be identified driver. The investigating team is scanning footage captured by closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed in the vicinity and possible getaway routes to ascertain the registration number of the vehicle and identify the driver who was responsible for the death of the woman.
