Metro-3 Phase 2 And Final Stretch Of Samruddhi Expressway Likely To Open On May 1; PM Modi May Inaugurate Projects
According to sources, efforts are underway to inaugurate both projects through Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Mumbai for another programme. Once operational, these major projects will enable commuters to travel faster and more efficiently.

According to sources, efforts are underway to inaugurate both projects through Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is in Mumbai for another programme. Once operational, these major projects will enable commuters to travel faster and more efficiently.
CMRS certification of Phase 2 of Metro-3 under process:
The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) has completed the inspection of the 9.6 km stretch from BKC (Bandra Kurla Complex) to Acharya Atre Chowk under Phase 2 of the underground Metro-3 corridor. The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) is now awaiting the final certificate from CMRS to begin commercial operations .
Once the final clearance is received, the Metro will be opened to the public. With Phase 2 operational, Metro services will cover 20 km of the total 33.35 km corridor, allowing passengers to travel between Aarey and Worli (Acharya Atre Chowk). Inspections of six stations along this phase has also been completed. Trial runs on this stretch have been underway for the past four months, and inspections began in the first week of April.Full operation expected by July on Colaba to Aarey in July.

Samruddhi Expressway final stretch soon to be launched completing the 701km long highway opened for traffic.
The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has completed work on the final 76 km stretch of the Samruddhi Expressway from Igatpuri to Amane, Thane. Once approved, the country’s most high-tech expressway will be fully open to vehicular traffic.
Of the total 701 km Mumbai-Nagpur expressway, 625 km is already open. With this final stretch, vehicles will now be able to complete the journey from Mumbai to Nagpur in just eight hours.
