Massive Fire Breaks Out From Ventilator In ICU Ward Of Thane's Vrindavan Hospital; No Casualties Reported

Mumbai: A massive fire had ignited in the ICU department of Vrindavan Hospital in Thane, Maharashtra, on Wednesday, June 25, at approximately 10:37 am. The blaze started from a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit.

Luckily, there were no fatalities or major injuries reported, and all individuals stayed unharmed from the massive fire that broke in the early hours. During the incident, the hospital had six patients: one in the ICU and five in the general ward. The 66-year-old ICU patient, Pradeep Singh, was swiftly transferred. Hospital personnel promptly informed Station Officer Dinesh Patil, resulting in a rapid reaction from the Thane Disaster Management Cell Chief Yasin Tadvi stated that the fire was small and under control.

Local firefighters, MSEDCL workers, and Disaster Management Cell team members came with firefighting and rescue equipment. The fire was effectively managed, with no damage noted except for the ventilator. The origin of the fire is being examined.

Despite the absence of injuries, the event underscores persistent worries about safety of equipment and readiness for emergencies in healthcare settings.
