Man rapes dog in Ulhasnagar near Mumbai, booked after video goes viral
The accused, identified as Pravin Tambe, has been booked by Ulhasnagar police under Section 377 (unnatural sexual offenses) of the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

Thane: In another heartbreaking case of apathy for stray dogs has come from Ulhasnagar where a 25-year-old man has allegedly raped a stray dog at Gaikwad Pada in Ulhasnagar in Thane district. Ulhasnagar police have registered a case against the accused.
The accused has been identified as Pravin Tambe who has been absconding from his residence at Ulhasnagar Camp no 5, section 36.
Dilip Fulpagare, senior police inspector, Ulhasnagar police station said, " We received a complaint from Raj Chotwani a member of Strays of Ulhas regarding a 25-year-old man raped the stray dogs in Ulhasnagar. Based on his complaint we registered a case against the accused identified as Pravin Tambe a resident of Ulhasnagar. He has been booked under section 377 (unnatural sexual offences) of the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act."
An accused booked under Section 377 could be sentenced to life imprisonment or maximum jail sentence of 10 years with a fine.
Fulpagare added, "We are in search of the accused and he will be arrested soon."
The Instagram handle of Strays of Bombay sharing the video of the incident wrote, " The accused has been absconding for the past two days."
It has made an appeal in the post to help find the accused Tambe.
Food delivery executive raped six-month-old dog in Powai
Last year in October, a food delivery man in Mumbai's Powai had allegedly raped a 6-month-old stray at Hira Panna Mall. The act was recorded by another food delivery agent.
The accused was arrested after an activist and member of NGO Bombay Animal Rights, Minu Sheth, filed a complaint against him.
Reportedly, the activist and the staff of nearby eateries regularly fed the dog that was raped by the man. Additionally, the man had been raping the dog for several days and another delivery executive once spotted him and made a video to alert others. He was sent to police remand by a city court on October 31.
