Mumbai: NCP National President and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar called upon people to follow the path shown in the Constitution by Dr. Ambedkar.
Stressing the point further, he said, "If Maharashtra of Shiv, Shahu, Phule, and Ambedkar has to progress, we must never forget their ideals. India remains united due to its diversity in religion, sects, and languages – and primarily because of the Constitution laid down by Dr. Ambedkar."
Today, office bearers from Congress and BJP in Dhule district formally joined NCP.
Pawar highlighted that the NCP has always worked to provide dignity and opportunities to women on a large scale. "In 2029, 96 women from Maharashtra will become MLAs through reserved seats. Of the 543 Lok Sabha seats in the country, one-third will be reserved for women MPs. Women have made the most of the opportunities given to them in local self-government elections. Countries that treat women equally and with dignity have progressed globally," Pawar remarked.
He further added that the NCP does not believe in new-versus-old debates. Those with ability, leadership, and the power to unite all sections of society must be given opportunities.
Among those who joined NCP today were:
• Former MP D. S. Ahire (Dhule)
• Congress Sindkhed Taluka President Shamkant Saner
• BJP’s Maharashtra State Secretary Sunil Nerkar
• Congress Kisan Cell Dhule President Shamkant Bhamre
• Former Chairman, Dhule Municipal Corporation Harishchandra Wagh
• Vice-President, Dhule District Talim Association Chandrakant Saindane
• Congress Minority Cell State Vice President Abid Pathan
Along with many other local leaders and party workers.
