Palghar, Maharashtra: Dr. Omprakash Shete, Chairman of the Ayushman Bharat Mission Maharashtra Committee, assured that no citizen of Palghar district will be deprived of healthcare benefits. He made this statement during a review meeting at the District Collector’s Office concerning the implementation of central and state health schemes under the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra 2024.
The meeting focused on the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY). It was chaired by Dr. Shete and attended by Member of Parliament Hemant Sawara, Additional District Collector Bhausaheb Phatangare, Resident Deputy Collector Subhash Bhagde, District Health Officer Dr. Satish Chaudhary, and senior representatives from government and private hospitals across the district.
Dr. Shete emphasized that the benefits of these flagship health schemes must reach the remotest sections of society, especially in a tribal-dominated district like Palghar. “The district administration must ensure that not a single citizen is left behind when it comes to access to quality healthcare,” he stated.
He reviewed the current status of scheme implementation and directed officials to accelerate the distribution of Ayushman Bharat health cards. Special health camps will be organized to raise awareness and encourage more citizens to enroll and avail treatment under the schemes.
Addressing concerns about the rising cost of treatment packages in empanelled private hospitals under MJPJAY, Dr. Shete assured that no patient should be forced to forgo treatment due to financial constraints.
“The objective is to eliminate out-of-pocket expenditure. The government will not fall short in its efforts to ensure healthcare for all. I will personally monitor the progress in Palghar,” he added.
