In response to growing civic concerns in Belapur and Seawoods, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has announced a ‘Dhol Bajao Morcha’ aimed at holding municipal authorities accountable for their alleged neglect. The protest will take place on Friday, June 27, beginning at 10:30 AM from Sakal Bhavan near Belapur Railway Station, and proceed to the Belapur Ward Office.

According to MNS leaders, the protest is intended to amplify the voices of residents whose repeated grievances about deteriorating civic conditions have gone unheard. From monsoon-triggered water logging due to poor drainage systems to crumbling roads and broken footpaths, the party claims that the area reflects administrative indifference.

“There are numerous issues plaguing Belapur and Seawoods, but the civic authorities continue to turn a blind eye. Waterlogging during the first rains clearly showed the failure of drainage maintenance, while roads and footpaths are in a deplorable state,” said MNS City Secretary Sachin Kadam.

Among the other issues the party plans to highlight are rampant encroachments, the dilapidated state of newly constructed school buildings, and glaring gaps in public healthcare infrastructure. “Crores have been spent on public projects like the multi-storey parking facility, which now lies abruptly shut. Even public gardens have been left in poor condition,” Kadam added.

The protest will be led by MNS Navi Mumbai City President and spokesperson Gajanan Kale. Demonstrators will march to the ward office, beating drums as a symbolic gesture to draw attention to civic apathy and demand accountability.

“This protest is a reflection of the daily struggles faced by residents. The MNS will confront officials directly and push for immediate action on these long-standing problems,” said Kale, urging citizens from Belapur and Seawoods to participate in large numbers.
