Maharashtra MLAs Jitendra Awhad And Gopichand Padalkar Clash Outside Assembly
According to sources, both leaders were seen hurling abuses at each other near the Assembly gates, sparking political buzz within the legislature premises. The incident appears to be an escalation of an earlier episode involving provocative remarks made by Awhad.

A heated verbal exchange broke out between Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MLA Jitendra Awhad and BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar outside the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan on Tuesday, with a video of the confrontation now circulating widely on social media.
According to sources, both leaders were seen hurling abuses at each other near the Assembly gates, sparking political buzz within the legislature premises. The incident appears to be an escalation of an earlier episode involving provocative remarks made by Awhad.
Just days ago, Awhad was caught on camera chanting “Mangalsutra choracha…” ("Thief of mangalsutra") while walking over the red carpet in the Assembly complex — a jibe that was widely interpreted as being aimed at Padalkar, though no names were mentioned. The video went viral, sparking an online spat between supporters of both politicians. Memes and edited images mocking both leaders were widely circulated.
Tuesday’s face-off occurred when Padalkar allegedly slammed his car door forcefully, which Awhad claimed was done deliberately and that it hit him. This led to a verbal confrontation at the Assembly entrance, causing a brief commotion and drawing the attention of nearby security personnel and media.
