A special PMLA court on Monday called for report from the jail's chief medical officer on State minister Nawab Malik's condition after his advocates informed that the NCP leader was passing blood in his urine and that both his legs were swollen.
Malik's advocates – Taraq Sayyed and Kushal Mor – informed the special judge RN Rokade that the minister was unwell and passing blood in urine.
The court, while extending Malik's judicial custody till April 4, called for his medical report. The court has also permitted him to use a bed, mattress and chair in jail.
Malik was arrested on February 23 by the Enforcement Directorate in a money-laundering probe linked to the activities of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his aides.
The NCP leader was in ED's custody till March 7 and was later sent to judicial custody till March 21.
While permitting Malik to use a bed, mattress and chair in jail, the court has noted that the minister shall not misuse the permission granted to him.
Malik also filed an application seeking home cooked food considering his age and ill health.
The court has said that the interim order passed on the last date allowing home cooked food to be provided to Malik shall continue till April 4.
