Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis revealed intentions for a new flyover next to the Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan underground Metro Line 5 to alleviate traffic congestion. Metro Line 5 will be extended from Kalyan to Ulhasnagar and Chikhloli close to Ambernath, improving connectivity for the fast-developing populations in Thane district.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced intentions for a new flyover that will parallel the Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan underground Metro Line 5 to reduce traffic congestion in the region.
In a major improvement for public transit and connectivity, the CM revealed plans to extend Metro Line 5 from Kalyan to Ulhasnagar and further to Chikhloli near Ambernath. The extension aims to provide faster, more efficient connections for the rapidly growing populations in these essential regions of Thane district.
According to a statement from the Thane district administration, the combined implementation of Metro Line 5, the new flyover, and road expansion projects will significantly enhance Bhiwandi's overall development. The CM emphasized the importance of road expansion alongside metro development, calling for the project's swift initiation to meet community demands.

Opening this link will eliminate the necessity for detours via Vakola and Hans Bhugra Marg, facilitating a seamless east-west connection in Mumbai.
