Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion ceremony took place in Nagpur just a day before opening of the Winter Session. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Dy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were present for the ceremony.

Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion ceremony in Nagpur on Sunday (December 15) saw 39 MLAs of the Mahayuti take ministerial oaths.. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Dy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were present at the ceremony. Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan is administered the ministerial oaths. MLAs who took oath were from BJP, Shiv Sena as well as from NCP.

BJP camp sounded upbeat even outside Maharashtra. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that Maharashtra was heading in the right direction under Mahayuti government.
In Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections 2024 conducted in the month of November, Mahayuti secured a landslide victory against Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). The Mahayuti won 230 out of 288 seats in Maharashtra assembly. BJP emerged as the lasrgest party with 132 votes. Shiv Sena (Shinde bagged 57 seats while NCP (Ajit Pawar) secured victory on 41 seats.
