Mumbai: IndiGo announced direct daily flights between Mumbai and London Heathrow from October 26. This will become IndiGo’s second destination in the United Kingdom after launching services between Mumbai and Manchester earlier this year.
India’s largest commercial airline according to market share, IndiGo, announced on Monday to launch direct daily flights between Mumbai and London Heathrow, which is Europe’s largest aviation hub and the world’s most connected airport.
The flight 6E-0001 will depart from Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) at 2.45pm and reach Heathrow at 7.20pm. Similarly, the return flight 6E-0002 will depart at 9.30pm and reach Mumbai at 11.45am the next day.

Starting from October 26, IndiGo’s foray into London will be the next big step in its global expansion strategy making London its second destination in the United Kingdom, following the successful launch of services between Mumbai and Manchester earlier this year.
The flights will be operated daily using IndiGo’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner taken on a damp lease from Norse Atlantic Airways. The aircraft will offer a dual-class configuration including Economy Class and IndiGo’s tailor-made business product, IndiGoStretch.
IndiGo will offer complimentary hot meals and beverages inspired by local and global flavours to all customers on this route. Additionally, alcoholic beverages can be purchased by customers on-board the Economy cabin and will be offered with compliments to IndiGoStretch customers. All seats feature seatback screens for inflight entertainment with nearly 300 hours of engaging content.
Pieter Elbers, chief executive officer at IndiGo, said, “The India-UK corridor has long held significant relevance, not only because of strong bilateral ties, but also due to the growing traffic between the two countries driven by students, visiting friends and relatives, business and leisure travellers. After the outstanding response to our long-haul debut flights to Manchester, we are excited to set foot in London.”
