Mumbai: As part of the Independence Day 2025 celebrations, the renowned 'Spain Child Castellers' Govinda team delivered a captivating traditional performance at Mumbai’s iconic Siddhivinayak Temple on Friday.

The performance was a visual treat for onlookers and devotees who had gathered at the temple to celebrate the national holiday. The team recreated the traditional Govinda-style human pyramid, which is a popular part of Janmashtami festivities in India, symbolising unity, coordination, and strength.

In Thane, Eknath Shinde hoisted the national flag, remembered the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle, and emphasised Maharashtra's significant contribution to India’s economy. He also referenced Operation Sindoor as a strong response to terrorism. Thane’s celebrations included a special midnight flag-hoisting event, initiated by Guruvarya Dharmaveer Anand Dighe Saheb, attended by Shiv Sena leaders and supporters.

A special highlight of the celebrations was the participation of Spanish Castellers, who formed a human tower in Thane as a tribute to the Indian flag. This unique performance symbolised a beautiful fusion of tradition, cultural exchange, and shared respect for national values and pride.
