The Chief Guest, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde, extended his greetings on the occasion of Yoga Day and said:
“Yoga symbolises peace, health, and balance. Due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts, yoga has received international recognition. The Maharashtra government is committed to spreading yoga to every citizen. It is our ancient cultural heritage and should become a part of our daily lives.”
Shinde urged the youth to become "Yoga Addicts" and to make yoga a daily habit, not just a one-day event. Guest of Honour, Member of Parliament from Kalyan Dr. Shrikant Shinde, praised Prime Minister Modi's efforts in promoting yoga globally. He also appreciated the yoga awareness campaigns conducted under the leadership of Shaina N.C. and her ngo I Love Mumbai initiative.
Commander of Coast Guard Region (West), Inspector General Bhisham Sharma, PTM, TM, said that yoga is deeply important for defense personnel. Soldiers need to remain mentally, physically, and emotionally resilient, and yoga plays a key role in strengthening all these aspects.
Shaina N.C., President of I Love Mumbai and Shiv Sena leader, said:
“Yoga is not just for the body but also for the balance of the soul. Let us embrace the 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health' campaign led by Prime Minister Modi and the Ministry of AYUSH. Yoga should not be limited to one day but must become a way of life.”
She also highlighted the disciplined participation of Indian Coast Guard personnel, the giant Welfare Foundation and the Times of India’s "Yoga by the Bay" initiative, which added great value and dignity to the event.
