Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the new electric AC bus service, Route A-30, operated by BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport), at a ceremony held at the Sahyadri Guest House. The service starts from Vikhroli Depot and runs to Mumbai Central, offering a modern, eco-friendly commute option for Mumbaikars.
The event marked a significant step forward in Mumbai’s public transport landscape. CM Fadnavis officially flagged off the electric bus and symbolically launched the service by boarding the vehicle and purchasing a ticket himself, underlining the government’s commitment to sustainable urban mobility.
Joining the Chief Minister at the event were Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and Ministers Adv. Ashish Shelar and Mangal Prabhat Lodha. Their presence highlighted the unified support for expanding Mumbai’s electric public transportation network.
The new Route A-30 is part of BEST’s ongoing initiative to replace its ageing fleet with electric vehicles. With increasing demand for efficient and sustainable public transit, BEST aims to introduce more such routes in the near future.
The launch of the A-30 route is expected to benefit thousands of commuters daily, connecting key areas across Mumbai while promoting an eco-conscious lifestyle.
