IMD: Thunderstorm with moderate spells of rain expected in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmednagar in next 3-4 hours
Due to recent unseasonal rainfall in Maharashtra on the wee hours of Monday, farmers suffered losses.

Mumbai: As predicted by the India Metrological Department (IMD), the city experienced light rainfall and thunderstorms in several parts of the city on Monday and Tuesday, however according to the forecast for the next 5 days, the city may not experience rainfall but will observe mainly cloudy skies with a temperature range between 24 to 36 degrees Celsius.
Several parts of Maharashtra including Nashik, Ahmednagar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Pune and Aurangabad received light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and may continue to receive light rainfall till Wednesday or Thursday due to a trough running from south Konkan to central Chhattisgarh, said an IMD official.
While Mumbai continued to receive light rainfall and thunderstorms till Tuesday and will likely experience mostly cloudy skies for the next five days.

Mumbai has been witnessing an early summer heat from the beginning of the month of February, however, the temperature of the city also witnessed a dip after the rainfall activity. The maximum temperature of the city on Monday was the highest of the season at 39.3 degrees Celsius but it witnessed a drop to 35.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.
According to the IMD, the drop in the average temperature is expected to continue for a week with the temperature hovering below 36 degrees Celsius.
On Tuesday, Santacruz witnessed a minimum temperature of 24.5 °C and a maximum of 35.8 °C, with 61% relative humidity. Colaba experienced a minimum temperature of 25.0°C and a maximum of 33.0 °C, with 74% relative humidity.
