IMD Issues Moderate To Heavy Rainfall Alert For Mumbai & Metropolitan Areas
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday morning has issued an alert a Nowcast for moderate to heavy rainfall in Mumbai and metropolitan regions. The warning has been issued at 10.45 pm and is valid up to 1.45 pm.

Mumbai: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday morning has issued an alert a Nowcast for moderate to heavy rainfall in Mumbai and metropolitan regions. The warning has been issued at 10.45 pm and is valid up to 1.45 pm.
"Moderate to intense spells of rain very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri, Raigad during the next 3-4 hours," the BMC's disaster management dashboard says.

Mumbai has been witnessing moderate rainfall since Tuesday evening. The IMD had forecasted light to moderate rains for the city this week. As per disaster management data, the areas which have recieved highest rainfall in the last 24 hours include: Mulund Check Naka (75 mm), Bhandup Complex (43 mm), Ghatkopar (45 mm), Wadala (44 mm), Malabar Hill (42 mm), Lower Parel (48 mm), Dindoshi (46 mm) and Borivali (50 mm).
As per disaster management, the local train services are running normally, and no severe traffic jams are reported.
