The Marine Drive Police have confirmed that a complaint filed by Ravi Ghai, founder of the Graviss Group, against his son and other family members , accusing them of forgery, among other charges is civil in nature.
Speaking to The Free Press Journal, Senior Police Inspector (SPI) Nilesh Bagul stated that while a complaint had indeed been filed by Ghai, further inquiry revealed that the issue pertained to a civil dispute.
According to police, Ravi Ghai alleged that his son, Gaurav Ghai, along with other relatives, had engaged in forgery and other illegal acts in an attempt to take over the family-owned company. However, upon investigation, the matter was found to be outside the purview of criminal proceedings.
"This is a civil case. The complainant can now seek legal remedy through the court," said SPI Bagul.
Gaurav Ghai, meanwhile, has categorically denied the allegations made by his father.
As of now, no FIR has been registered in the case.
