The BMC is promoting eco-friendly Ganpati festival celebrations, and has emphasized the mandals to erect the pit-free pavilions and use enviornment friendly materials for decoration.

Ahead of the Ganpati festival, the BMC from Monday started it's online single window application system for sarvajanik Ganpati mandals to obtain the permissions for erecting pavilions. The applicants can obtain the NOCs from BMC's official website https://portal.mcgm.gov.in . The applicants NOC from the local police station and local traffic police.
The BMC is promoting eco-friendly Ganpati festival celebrations, and has emphasized the mandals to erect the pit-free pavilions and use enviornment friendly materials for decoration.
To make the festival more people-oriented and environmentally friendly, the BMC has so far distributed 907 metric tonnes of shadu clay to artisans free of cost and 979 sculptors were given free space for temporary pavilions to make the idols.
Meanwhile, the corporation on Tuesday also conducted a one-day training for volunteers from several Ganpati mandals for guidelines on eco-friendly immersions as well as disaster management.
The training included crowd control, fire incidents, first aid during disasters, electrical safety measures, CPR, patient transportation, emergency management etc.
