Amid criticism from opposition leaders for the absence of mentions of Maharashtra in the Union Budget 2025, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis shared some of the announcements made in the Union Budget for the state in a social media post.

Taking to X, he said, "Maharashtra in the Union Budget! (Note: This is preliminary information. Detailed figures from various ministries and railways will follow.)

Mumbai Metro: 1255.06 crores

Pune Metro: 699.13 crores

MUTP: 511.48 crores

Integrated and Green Passenger Facilities for MMR: 792.35 crores

Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail: 4004.31 crores

Economic Clusters for Inclusive Development: 1094.58 crores

Maharashtra Rural Connectivity Improvement Project: 683.51 crores

Maharashtra Agribusiness Network: 596.57 crores

Nag River Improvement Project: 295.64 crores

Mula-Mutha River Conservation: 229.94 crores

Energy Efficient Lift Irrigation Project: 186.44 crores".

Earlier Today, Maharashtra CM hailed Union Budget as a "dream budget" for the middle class, stating that it will spur growth and lead to an inclusive economy.

Speaking to the mediapersons after the presentation of Union Budget 2025, Fadnavis praised the decision to raise the income tax exemption for income up to Rs 12 lakh from Rs 7 lakh under the new tax regime.

This is a bold step that proves to be a milestone in the economic history of the country.

"The Union Budget is a dream budget for the middle class," he said.

The budget has been prepared keeping in mind the the goals of 'Viksit Bharat', accelerating development and growth, lead towards an inclusive economy, he said.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray has criticised the Union Budget 2025, highlighting the absence of any specific allocations for Maharashtra despite it being the highest tax-contributing state.

Responding to the Union Budget in a social media post, Thackeray pointed out what he sees as a stark contrast between Bihar's prominent mentions and Maharashtra's complete omission. "Not a single mention of Maharashtra is an outright insult to the state that contributes the highest taxes, including one of the highest GST consistently," he said.
