Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's Coronation Anniversary Observed With Folk Art And Powada Performances At Raigad | FPJ Photos

The historic Shivrajyabhishek Day, marking the coronation of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was celebrated with great fervor and traditional grandeur at Fort Raigad today.

A government salute was rendered in the presence of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje and Raigad District Collector Kishan Jawale. The entire fort reverberated with chants of “Shivaji Maharaj ki Jai,” as thousands of Shiv devotees dressed in traditional attire gathered to witness the event. Cultural performances, including folk arts and the recitation of heroic Powadas, added to the electrifying and devotional atmosphere atop the historic fort.

The coronation ceremony featured a series of events attended by key dignitaries, including Special Inspector General of Police (Konkan Division) Sanjay Darade, District Superintendent of Police Aachal Dalal, Chief Executive Officer Neha Bhosale, Additional Superintendent of Police Abhijit Shivthare, and Additional CEO Satyajit Badhe, among others.

Security was tightened and elaborate arrangements were made for crowd management and public convenience. The All India Shivrajyabhishek Mahotsav Committee organized several events to mark the occasion. The district administration and government departments extended large-scale facilities, including free meals, drinking water, health services, sanitation, shaded resting areas, and complimentary bus services.

Shiv devotees from not only Maharashtra but also from across the country thronged Fort Raigad to pay homage to the legendary Maratha king, making it a memorable and spiritually charged celebration.
