Chemical-Laden Tanker Overturns On Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway
The incident took place around 4:00 a.m. when the tanker, traveling from Mumbai towards Gujarat, reportedly went out of control after the driver lost balance. The vehicle crashed through the divider and landed in a roadside ditch, causing a significant chemical leak.

Palghar: A major accident occurred early Thursday morning on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway near the Babola Temple at Dhikale, when a tanker carrying a highly flammable chemical acetone broke through an iron divider and plunged nearly ten feet below the road.
The incident took place around 4:00 a.m. when the tanker, traveling from Mumbai towards Gujarat, reportedly went out of control after the driver lost balance. The vehicle crashed through the divider and landed in a roadside ditch, causing a significant chemical leak.
The driver sustained only minor injuries in the mishap. Upon receiving information, Assistant Police Inspector Pawan Thakur of the Highway Police promptly alerted the Palghar Fire Brigade. Two fire tenders and a police team rushed to the scene and began containment and rescue operations.
According to fire officials, while the acetone spill posed no immediate health hazard, it carried a high risk of ignition. Safety measures were immediately implemented to prevent any outbreak of fire.
Traffic movement in the area was monitored closely as authorities worked to safely manage the situation.
