Bakri Eid 2025: Thane Police Issues Traffic Advisory For Kalyan; Alternate Routes Announced For June 7–8 Due To Durgadi Fort Gathering

Thane: The Thane City Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory for the Kalyan sub-division on the occasion of the Bakri Eid 2025. Considering the large public gatherings are expected in Kalyan city, particularly at the Durgadi Eidgah, where the Muslim community offers Eid prayers.

Simultaneously, a bell-ringing event was held at the Durga Mata Temple located at Durgadi Fort. The traffic movement between Lal Chowki and Durga Mata Chowk will be restricted with barricades. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pankaj Shirsat, has issued a traffic advisory for Kalyan city.

The Bakri Eid festival will be celebrated on June 7 or June 8 (one day back or forward according to the sighting of the moon) within the limits of Kalyan Traffic Sub-Division, and to avoid traffic congestion in the said area, entrances will be closed and alternate routes will be provided according to the advisory.

Details of Road Closures and Alternate Routes:

Entry Closed: All types of vehicles going from Lalchowki in Kalyan city to Bhiwandi are being 'enclosed' at Lalchowki.

Alternate route: These vehicles will take a right turn from Lalchowki and go to the desired destination via Adarwadi Chowk, Wadeghar Circle.

Entry Closed: All types of vehicles going from Bhiwandi to Kalyan via Agra Road in Kalyan city and Govindwadi Bypass are being 'enclosed' at Durgamata Chowk.

Alternate route: These vehicles will take a left turn from Durgamata Chowk and go to the desired destination via Wadeghar Circle Adarwadi Chowk.

Entry Closed: All types of vehicles going from Kalyan (East) Kolsewadi side to Durgamata Chowk via Govindwadi Bypass are being 'enclosed' at Patripool.

Alternate route: These vehicles will take a right turn from Patripool Shivaji Chowk Lalchowki and go to the desired destination via Adarwadi Chowk.

Entry Closed: The traffic of multi-axle, heavy, bulky vehicles, trailers, etc., going through Durgadi Chowk, Govindwadi Bypass Patripool and Durgadi Chowk Shivaji Chowk - Patripool within Kalyan city is being 'closed' at all times during the day and night on the day of 'Bakri Eid'.

This traffic control notification will remain in force till the end of the 'Bakri Eid' prayer program (one day back or forward according to the sighting of the moon) on June 7 or June 8 at 00:00 hrs. The notification specifies that emergency vehicles such as ambulances, the fire brigade, and police vehicles will be exempted from these restrictions.
