The civic body has asked all the citizens and other connection holders are requested to store water in advance and use it judiciously.

The BMC has undertaken a work to connect an additional 4,000 mm diameter channel to the water treatment plant at the Bhandup complex. Due to these repair works, water supply will be under low pressure in the 12 civic wards between Jan 29 and Feb 4.
The supply will be completely stopped in these wards for a 24-hour period starting from 10am, Jan 30 and ending at 10am, Jan 31.
The areas to be affected include Bhandup, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Jogeshwari, Andheri, Vile Parle, Juhu, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Borivali, Dahisar, Bandra, Khar, Santa Cruz. Dharavi area, where water is provided between 4pm and 9pm, will face the same predicament on Jan30. While areas of Mahim, Dadar, Prabhadevi and Matunga will get 25% less water on Jan30 and Jan 31, said the civic official.
The BMC daily supplies 3,850 million litres (ML) of water to the city. The Bhandup complex is a key component in the supply network as 1,910 ML water is pumped from there. Other than the work of connecting the additional channel, the BMC's Hydraulic Department will also install valves on various pipelines connected to the Bhandup complex and repair leakages.
