Mumbai: Commuters using Mahim Station are advised to take note of the temporary closure of the South Foot Over Bridge (FOB) over the Harbour Line, effective from April 15 to May 4, 2025. The closure has been announced due to dismantling work being undertaken on the BMC FOB, which is in a deteriorated condition.
According to officials, the decision comes after structural assessments revealed the BMC foot over bridge to be in a dilapidated state, posing potential safety risks to the public. Commuters are advised to use alternative FOBs or access points during this time.
Signage and guidance personnel will be deployed at the station to assist passengers and help manage the flow of traffic. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
The closure is part of a broader effort to ensure commuter safety and improve infrastructure reliability across the city's transport network."
