ATTENTION Commuters! Navi Mumbai Police Issues Traffic Curbs In Kharghar For Mahashivratri; Check Route Diversions
As per an official notification issued by the traffic department of Navi Mumbai, traffic movement from Navrang Bus Stop to Cheroba Temple will be completely restricted during the specified period of 12.01 am to 11.59 pm. Commuters are advised to take alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.

In light of the annual Mahashivratri celebrations at the Shiva Temple in Sector 12, Kharghar, the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police have announced special traffic restrictions to manage the expected influx of devotees. “The temple, situated in a busy marketplace, witnesses heavy footfall during the festival, often leading to traffic congestion. To ensure smooth movement and avoid traffic jams, the restrictions will be in effect for the full day on Wednesday,” Deputy Commissioner of police Tirupati Kakade said.
As per an official notification issued by the traffic department of Navi Mumbai, traffic movement from Navrang Bus Stop to Cheroba Temple will be completely restricted during the specified period of 12.01 am to 11.59 pm. Commuters are advised to take alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
Vehicles heading from Navrang Bus Stop to Cheroba Temple will be diverted via Ryan School before reaching their destination. Vehicles from Navrang Bus Stop to Daily Bazaar Signal will take a left at Navrang Chowk, passing via Khargharcha Raja Ganpati Temple, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, and Shilp Chowk. Vehicles traveling from Cheroba Temple towards Bank of India Signal (Patel Heritage Building Signal) will be rerouted via Yeroba Temple and Ryan School before reaching Navrang Bus Stop. Vehicles from Yeroba Temple towards Bank of India Signal will be diverted through Sector 07.
To prevent congestion, ‘No Parking’ regulations will be enforced on both sides of the road from Bank of India to Navrang Chowk, Navrang to Ryan School to Cheroba Temple, Navrang Chowk to Khargharcha Raja to Shivaji Chowk to Shilp Chowk and Yeroba Temple to Daily Bazaar Signal Chowk.
The traffic restrictions will not apply to essential services, including police vehicles, ambulances, fire brigades, and other government vehicles. Authorities have urged commuters to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with traffic diversions to ensure a smooth and hassle-free Mahashivratri celebration in Kharghar.
