Illegal hawkers, for instance, block pavements and roads with complete impunity, in gross contempt of the Bombay High Court’s ruling, making walking hellish for citizens. Those in power themselves erect thousands of hoardings, again in utter contempt of a High Court order. It is possible that some people may be experiencing health issues due to pigeons.
However, that does not justify depriving these defenceless birds of food and water. Mumbai has always been known for its compassion towards its birds and stray dogs. I hope wiser counsel will prevail.
