The initiative ensured that roads and the stadium area were visibly clean by morning, earning praise from local citizens.

A total of 7.5 tons of waste was collected in a special nighttime cleanliness drive carried out by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) following the mega musical event ‘Waves 2025’ at D.Y. Patil Stadium, featuring global music icon A.R. Rahman’s "Wondermet" live premiere. The initiative ensured that roads and the stadium area were visibly clean by morning, earning praise from local citizens.
Under the leadership of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, the corporation had pre-planned the post-event sanitation, which was executed immediately after the event concluded. A total of 2 tons of waste was collected from the stadium’s surrounding roads—primarily plastic bottles—while 5.5 tons of waste was removed from within the stadium premises using a large compactor vehicle. To transport the collected waste to the solid waste management project site, 3 Tata Ace garbage collection vehicles were deployed. These were operated by a waste transport manager and 9 sanitation workers.
